Ensuring Safety & Security

A Safe Haven for Learning

At Wesleyan Christian Academy, the safety and security of our students, staff, and visitors are our utmost priority. We understand that creating a conducive environment for learning requires a secure foundation. In this effort, our administration has implemented a comprehensive set of measures to ensure the well-being of everyone on our campus.

1. Access Control Systems & Visitor Check-In

We have installed state-of-the-art access control systems at all campus entry points. These systems allow us to monitor and regulate who enters and exits the premises, ensuring that only authorized individuals have access to our facilities. Additionally, all guests to Wesleyan Christian Academy are required to enter at the Main Academy Office only, show ID, which is run through our background check system, and wear a “Visitor’s Pass” throughout their stay on campus.

2. Surveillance Cameras

We have strategically placed surveillance cameras throughout the campus to enhance monitoring capabilities. These cameras provide real-time monitoring and recording of activities, enabling us to respond swiftly to security concerns.

3. High Point Police Presence

Trained High Point Police Officers are on campus each school day and have a visible presence on our campus. These individuals work to ensure our campus is safe from unauthorized individuals.

4. Emergency Response Protocols

We have established comprehensive emergency response protocols that outline procedures to be followed in the event of different scenarios, including lockdowns, weather-related incidents, evacuations, and medical emergencies. Regular drills and training sessions are conducted to familiarize students and staff with these protocols.

5. Collaborative Partnerships

We collaborate closely with local law enforcement agencies and emergency responders to ensure a coordinated response to any security incidents. This partnership allows us to access additional resources and expertise when needed, further enhancing the safety of our campus.

6. Safety Education and Awareness

Education is key to promoting a culture of safety on campus. We provide regular safety education programs and workshops to students, staff, and parents, covering topics such as personal safety, emergency preparedness, and cyber security.

7. Mental Health Support Services

Ensuring the well-being of our students goes beyond physical safety. We provide access to mental health support services and counseling resources to help students cope with stress, anxiety, and other emotional challenges they may face.

8. Continuous Evaluation and Improvement

Safety is an ongoing process, and we continuously evaluate and update our security measures to adapt to evolving threats and challenges. We actively seek feedback from stakeholders and conduct regular assessments to identify areas for improvement.
