PTO Sponsored Events

Our Open Houses are held before the first day of school. They are specifically for WCA students and their parents (including returning and new families). This is a great time to meet your teachers, find your desk or locker, and walk an abbreviated schedule.

Each year, our Wesleyan PTO sponsors several different events to encourage and uplift our faculty and staff, including:
– Back-to-School Breakfast
– Donuts and Coffee
– Christmas Cookie Exchange
– Teacher Appreciation Week

Each month, our Wesleyan PTO blesses our students and families with fun and engaging events that build community and remind us how lucky we are to be part of an intentionally Christian school. Events can include but are not limited to:
– Movie Night @ High Point Rocker’s Stadium
– Kona Ice Truck on campus to celebrate academic quarters
– Valentine Cookie Grams
– PTO Fun Festival

The PTO provides financial support for purchasing various Early Education Center items, including classroom furniture, toys, books, playground equipment, etc. This support is based on the childcare staff’s and parents’ involvement in the annual Fun Festival. Some of the funds from the Fun Festival are shared with the childcare program.

The PTO funds a college scholarship presented to a WCA senior each spring for outstanding service to the community. The selected student must have contributed at least 100 service hours within 12 months.

Academic Awards Assemblies are conducted each spring in the elementary, middle, and high school divisions.  During the assemblies, a variety of awards are presented.  The PTO provides funds for trophies, plaques, and certificates.

The PTO has provided extraordinary support to various programs and projects sponsored within the academy, such as Art Impact Day, Mission Fair, Wellness Committee Fairs, and Spiritual Emphasis Week. In addition, the PTO has contributed to purchasing special equipment, such as sound equipment for the dining hall and middle school gym andsecurity cameras.

Fundraisers

You may ask, “How can I get involved and help the PTO and the school?”  There are several ways you can be involved.  Click on each one to see how YOU can help.

Harris Teeter (WCA Code 2098)

Give the cashier WCA Code 2098 and your VIC card when you check out, and your card will be linked for the entire school year.  Once your card is linked, Harris Teeter will donate a percentage of your Harris Teeter brand (Harris Teeter, Premier Selection, H.T. Traders, Harris Teeter Naturals, Your Pet, Hunter Farms, Highland Crest, and More Value) purchases to WCA.  In addition to HT brand items, a percentage of each prescription filled in the Harris  Teeter pharmacy will be donated to the school. Follow the directions here to link your VIC card to the school number.

GRANDPARENTS, ALUMNI, FRIENDS, AND NEIGHBORS ARE ALL WELCOME TO PARTICIPATE IN THE HARRIS TEETER “TOGETHER IN EDUCATION” PROGRAM.

PTO Fun Festival

The Fun Festival has been a tradition at WCA for over 35 years and is the largest PTO fundraiser. The activities are primarily designed for preschool and elementary children. Service opportunities are available for middle and high school students as helpers in the classroom activities. Volunteers are needed to assist with ticket sales at entrances, gym and outdoor activities, hot dogs and pizza service, and dining hall cleanup following the event.

PTO Bake Sale

The PTO Bake Sale takes place in conjunction with the Fun Festival. Parents and students donate baked goods, which are sold throughout the school day. Volunteers are needed to assist with setup, sales, and cleanup.

A straightforward way to help support the WCA PTO is to link your grocery store rewards.

Prayer

Father, we ask for a powerful and profound work of the Holy Spirit among the administration, teachers, staff, students, and parents of Wesleyan Christian Academy.  We plead that the Holy Spirit will do a powerful and gracious work in our hearts. Holy Spirit, release Your power in this school and meet the particular spiritual needs of the administration, teachers, staff, students, and parents of Wesleyan Christian Academy. May You be glorified!  Amen!
